Maharishi Vidya Mandir was started at Hosur in June 1983 with just 3 teachers and 85 students. Today, it is the biggest school in the town with 4600 students and 150 well qualified trained teachers. The school is located in Maharishi Gardens, a 60-acre plot, at the Western outskirts of the town. It has 110 spacious and well-ventilated classrooms, besides conference halls, Laboratory halls, Library room, Audio Visual and Computer Sections and Internet Centre. All Students have access to the Internet. The school at present has classes up to the senior secondary level.
The unique feature of this school is teaching of Transcendental Meditation to every child admitted to the school.
It is a simple, natural, effortless procedure whereby the mind easily and naturally arrives at the source of the thought, the settled state of mind - Transcendental consciousness - Pure consciousness, self referral consciousness, which is the source of all creative processes. Very few schools have as big a campus as we have, in India. We have well laid courts for all major games. This is the only school in the District, which has a Cricket Stadium.
